Go Go Super Portable
£1,799.00

The Go Go Super Portable is a folding mobility scooter built around a carbon fibre frame, and it weighs just 18.9 kg without its battery. It folds to 30 cm deep, stands upright on its own once folded and has an airline compliant lithium battery as standard. If you want a scooter that goes where you go, whether that’s the supermarket, a day out by train or a fortnight in Spain, this is the one we’d point you to first.

A light foldable mobility scooter that’s genuinely easy to live with

Plenty of scooters are sold as portable. The difference with this one is how little effort it takes day to day. Carbon fibre is stiff and strong for its weight, which is why Pride used it here instead of the steel or aluminium you’ll find on most budget folding models. The result is a frame that feels solid when you’re riding but doesn’t leave you wrestling with it at the end of the trip.

Folding it takes a few seconds and you don’t need to take the seat off first. Once it’s folded, it stands upright on its own, so you can park it in a hallway, beside a table in a café or in the corner of a hotel room without it needing to lean on anything. That sounds like a small thing until you’ve owned a scooter that has to be laid flat on the floor every time.

Unfolded, it measures 945 mm long and 547 mm wide with a turning circle of 1311 mm. That’s compact enough for shop aisles, lifts and narrow doorways, which is where a lot of larger pavement scooters start to struggle.

Will it fit in a car boot?

For most cars, yes. Folded to 30 cm deep, it takes up far less boot space than a scooter that dismantles into sections, and because it stays in one piece you won’t find yourself hunting for a missing part in a car park. Pride designed it with a cantilever lift, so you can tip it and lift it into the boot in a controlled way instead of picking up the whole scooter at once.

We’d always suggest measuring your boot opening and floor before you buy, particularly on smaller hatchbacks where the opening can be narrower than the boot itself. If you’re unsure, send us your car make and model and we’ll help you check. Our guide on whether foldable mobility scooters are worth it covers the questions most people ask before moving from a larger scooter to a folding one.

Folding scooter or boot scooter?

Travel scooters generally come in two types. Boot scooters split into four or five sections, with the heaviest usually being the battery or the rear section. Folding scooters like the Go Go Super Portable stay in one piece and fold in half.

A boot scooter can suit you if someone else will be lifting it, as each piece is lighter on its own. The downside is time. Taking it apart and putting it back together can take several minutes, and it’s a fiddly job in the rain or in a busy car park. A folding scooter is quicker, with nothing to lose or line up, but you lift more of the weight in one go.

That’s where the carbon frame earns its keep. At 18.9 kg without the battery, the Super Portable is light enough that many people find the single lift manageable, and the cantilever design takes some of the strain. If you’d find any lift difficult, talk to us about your options before you buy.

Taking the Go Go Super Portable on holiday

The standard 11.7Ah lithium battery is airline compliant, which is one of the main reasons people choose this model over heavier travel scooters. If flying is part of your plans, the battery matters just as much as the weight.

Every airline sets its own rules for mobility aids with lithium batteries, though, and those rules can change. Before you book, contact your airline’s special assistance team and give them the battery details. Most will ask for the battery type and capacity, and some ask for notice at least 48 hours before you fly. Keep the battery information with you at the airport too, as staff at check-in or the gate may ask to see it.

The same folding design helps on trains, coaches and taxis. You can fold it, stand it up beside you and unfold it again at the other end without needing anyone to help.

Charging with Charge360

The Go Go Super Portable comes with Pride’s Charge360 charger. The connector is magnetic and attaches from any direction, so there’s no lining up pins or fiddling with a plug behind the seat. For anyone with reduced dexterity or grip, it makes a real difference to how easy the scooter is to look after.

The 2 amp charger sits off the scooter, and a full charge gives up to 10.1 miles. How far you actually get depends on your weight, the hills on your route, the temperature and how often you stop and start, so we’d plan for a little less than the maximum on a hilly day or in cold weather. Pride also makes an optional 16Ah battery for longer days out. Contact us if you’d like to check availability. For tips on getting the most life from a lithium battery, read our mobility scooter battery guide.

Comfort and everyday practicality

There’s a storage compartment under the seat and a front bag within easy reach, so your keys, phone and shopping have somewhere to go that isn’t your lap. Front and rear lights help other people see you when the light drops, which is handy in the darker winter months or in a dim shopping centre car park.

The solid tyres mean no punctures and no pressures to check. They suit pavements, shop floors and paved paths well. This is a pavement and travel scooter rather than an off-road model, so rough grass, gravel and steep kerbs aren’t what it’s made for. If you need something for rougher ground, have a look at the wider range of travel scooters or ask us for a recommendation.

Is the Go Go Super Portable right for you?

It’s a very good fit if you:

  • need to lift your scooter into a car regularly and want to keep that weight down
  • plan to fly with your scooter
  • live somewhere with limited storage space
  • mostly ride on pavements, in town and indoors

It’s less suited to anyone who needs a long daily range, travels over rough ground or weighs more than 136 kg. In those cases a larger, heavier scooter will serve you better. If you’d like a slightly different balance of weight and features within the same family, the GoGo Mg2 is worth comparing.

Buying VAT free

If you’re disabled or have a long-term illness, you won’t be charged VAT on a mobility scooter bought for your own personal or domestic use. You can make the declaration during checkout, and our page on disability VAT exemption explains who qualifies. As a Class 2 scooter with a top speed of 4 mph, the Go Go Super Portable doesn’t need to be registered with the DVLA and can be used on pavements.

Frequently asked questions

How far will a Go Go scooter go on a full charge?

The Go Go Super Portable will go up to 10.1 miles (16.3 km) on a full charge with the standard 11.7Ah battery. Your real range will depend on your weight, the terrain, hills and the weather, so it’s sensible to plan trips with some charge to spare.

Is the Go Go Super Portable airline approved?

Its standard lithium battery is airline compliant, and Pride describes it as flight safe. Airlines still make the final decision, so always check with your airline before you travel and give them the battery details in advance.

Will the Go Go Super Portable fit in my car boot?

It folds to 30 cm deep and stays in one piece, so it fits in most car boots, including many smaller hatchbacks. Measure your boot opening before you buy, or send us your car details and we’ll help you check.

Are Go Go scooters good?

Go Go scooters are made by Pride Mobility, one of the biggest mobility scooter manufacturers in the world, and the range has been popular in the UK for many years. The Super Portable is built for travel first, and it’s a good choice if a light carbon frame, a quick fold and an airline compliant battery matter most to you.
